A 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon is now in effect, nine days after the U.S. and Iran agreed to their own two-week truce. Here’s what to know.

Details: The truce appeared to be holding, potentially clearing an obstacle to a deal to end the war in Iran. It remained unclear whether Israel would completely stop strikes on Hezbollah or whether the militant group would recognize a deal it did not negotiate. Some Israeli troops will remain in Lebanon.
