Mother's Day gift ideas

The day to celebrate your lifelong cheerleader is coming up on May 10, so now's the time to find that special gift for your mom, grandma or other motherly figure in your life. Luckily, our gifting expert, Amanda Garrity, has a few suggestions that are guaranteed hits:

Under $30 finds I'm buying

As a shopping editor, I love a good bargain. Here are the items I'm scooping up this week for less than $30:

A fresh white tank ($17): After previous summers of sunscreen and self-tanner, my white tank tops were looking a little dingy, so I snapped up this scoop-neck style. I already own it in light blue, so I knew I'd love the slightly cropped fit.
A travel outlet adapter ($26): I'm heading to Europe for a friend's wedding soon, so this space-saving gizmo from Anker is sure to be one of my most-used items. It recently won a Yahoo Travel Award, so I know it won't let me down.
A vanilla body scrub ($9): My whole team loves Tree Hut's sugar scrubs — we all agree that there's nothing better at sloughing off dry skin. The scrubs come in a ton of scents, but vanilla is my go-to (Moroccan Rose and Santal Haze are close runners-up).

I recently turned my mom on to these self-tanning drops. Add a few to your favorite body lotion, rub it on evenly, then wash your hands. In just a few hours, you have a subtle golden glow that looks natural. It's not orange at all, and a little goes a long way, so we don't mind the $24 price tag.
