Hi Food Lover,
We're packing up the (work) family and heading out to visit some of the producers in our neighborhood. Regionally speaking.
We'll be starting in Chicago then moving up to Wisconsin for the majority of the trip.
Our rag-tag group of motley culinary specialists consists of five members:
- Alex—The Fixer
- Val—The Planner
- Nora—The Rookie
- Mo—The OG
- And me—The Wild Card
For the next four days we'll be on the road, meeting some of our favorite producers and bringing their story (and delicious samples, we hope) back to our crew in Ann Arbor.
We'll be documenting as much as we can through our Instagram account so follow along if you like: @zingermansmailorder
There's lots of Zingerman's accounts so you gotta be specific.

We have five or six vendors to visit on our list—like SUGOi and even the folks that print our catalogs—but Pleasant Ridge Reserve will be a highlight. Also my mom loves this cheese so consider it a good option for Mother's Day.
Made by Andy Hatch and the team at Uplands Cheese in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Pleasant Ridge Reserve has been one of my all-time favorite cheeses since I first tasted it a couple decades ago. It's fruity in an apple sort of way—rich, deep and sweet.
Visting Uplands will be like visiting family. According to the latest intel we'll be feeding calves then enjouying a bit of dinner.
Follow our adventures then share this cheese with your favorite mom-type person for Mother's Day. Tell them all you've learned about Pleasant Ridge Reserve, what makes this cheese so delicious, and why it's so special to us.
