Overview
Braze is a customer engagement platform for email, push, SMS and in-app messages. The Email Love Figma plugin connects to your Braze account by API and exports the email you designed in Figma as an email template or a content block.

What it does
- Creates an email template in Braze, under Templates > Email Templates.
- Exports a Braze Content Block instead, if you choose Braze Content Block. Insert it in any Braze message with Braze’s content block tool or with Liquid.
- Updates the same template or content block when you export again with Enable Updatable Templates turned on.
- Merges Braze’s unsubscribe tokens into your footer automatically.
- Adds Braze translation tags to headings, paragraphs, buttons and footer text when you turn on localization tags, ready for a translation tool such as Smartling.
How to export from Figma to Braze
In Braze, open Settings > API & Identifiers and create an API key with the Templates permission.
In the plugin, choose Braze (or Braze Content Block), set the API key and select your instance ID.
Turn on localization tags or Enable Updatable Templates if you need them, and name the template.
Click Export to Braze.
Find the template in Braze under Templates > Email Templates.
Export from Email Love Builder to Braze
Email Love Builder connects to Braze too. Connect it once, then export any template from the editor as a new Braze email template.
In Email Love Builder, go to Settings > Integrations, find Braze and click Connect.
Select your Braze instance, for example US-01 or EU-01, and paste a REST API key with email template permissions.
Open a template in the editor, click Export and choose Export to Braze.
The template is created as a new email template in your Braze account, named after the Builder template.
Good to know
- Content blocks leave out the CSS in the email’s head, such as media queries. Add that CSS to your Braze template, and use content blocks for single-column content.
- Translation tags are not added to images or code blocks.
- Add an Email Love Footer with an unsubscribe link before you export.

Can I export emails from Figma to Braze?
Yes. The Email Love Figma plugin connects to Braze with a REST API key and exports the email you designed in Figma as an email template or a content block.
Can I update a Braze template after I export it?
Yes. Turn on Enable Updatable Templates and export the same Figma frame again. The plugin updates the template you exported before instead of creating a new one. The same works for content blocks.
Does Email Love Builder work with Braze?
Yes. Connect Braze in Email Love Builder under Settings > Integrations, then export any template from the editor as a new Braze email template.
Can I translate emails I export to Braze?
Yes. Turn on localization tags and the plugin wraps your text in Braze translation tags. A translation tool such as Smartling, connected to Braze, translates the campaign and sends the translations back.
