What is the biggest difference between Email Love Builder and Knak?

Knak’s production components live in Knak’s own module library, and its Figma plugin builds emails from Knak’s own blocks. Email Love Builder maps each production component to its component in your Figma design system, so designers keep working in Figma, marketers build from the same components in a drag-and-drop editor, and there is no separate module library to maintain. If your team is centered on Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Eloqua and wants deep native sync, Knak’s approach may suit you better.

Where they differ.

01

Where designers and marketers work

In Knak, marketers build emails in a no-code editor from locked modules that a central team builds and maintains in Knak. Knak’s Figma plugin also lets designers work in Figma, building emails from Knak’s own blocks and publishing them into Knak. The modules marketers use are still maintained in Knak, so if your email design system already lives in Figma, the Knak module library is a second version of it, kept up to date separately.

In Email Love Builder, designers and marketers each work in their own tool. Designers keep building and maintaining the email design system in Figma. Marketers build campaigns in a drag-and-drop editor from those same components, without opening Figma, and locked states decide what they can change. Each component in the editor is mapped to its Figma component and re-synced when it changes, so nobody spends time rebuilding the design system inside the editor, and there is no second version to keep matched.

02

How each tool works with Figma

With Email Love Builder, your components and templates stay in Figma, where your designers already maintain them. Each production component in the Builder is mapped to its component in Figma, with Auto Layout, Variants, and nested components supported, so marketers build from the same components your designers maintain. Designers update the source component in Figma and re-sync it, and every template that uses it updates.

Knak also has a Figma plugin, and it is a quick way to get a design into Knak. According to Knak’s help docs (checked September 2026), designers build with Knak’s own plugin blocks rather than your existing Figma components. The plugin publishes whole emails, not modules or themes, and it cannot update an email it has already published, so each change creates a new version. Your Figma components are not mapped to Knak’s modules.

03

Your brand changes the button radius. What happens next?

Say your brand changes the primary button from a 6px corner radius to 12px. In Knak, the change is made twice: a designer updates the button in Figma, where the brand lives, and the team that owns the Knak module library updates the button module there. The two libraries stay matched only as long as someone keeps matching them.

In Email Love Builder, a designer updates the button component in Figma and re-syncs it. Every template that uses the component picks up the new radius. The change is made once.

04

Knak does more than email

Knak includes landing pages in the same platform, and its governance is built for rollouts across many teams, brands, and regions. Its marketing automation integrations are also deep. Emails sync natively into Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Eloqua, and HubSpot, and G2 reviewers rate that integration 9.6.

Both tools export to the major platforms. Email Love Builder exports directly to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, HubSpot, Klaviyo, Marketo, Customer.io, and more. For most teams, the choice comes down to where the design system lives and who maintains it.

05

Pricing

Knak does not publish its pricing. It is a custom quote, and Knak’s website says it costs five times less than a developer. G2 reviewers praise the product and its support.

Email Love Builder is also a custom quote. It comes with Enterprise, which includes a custom design system of up to 100 components, team training, and a dedicated Slack channel. Our Figma plugin has published pricing: it is free to start, Starter is $19 and Growth is $59 per user a month, and Professional is for teams of three or more. You can start with the plugin and move to Enterprise later.

Which is right for you?

Choose Knak if

  • Your organization is standardized on Marketo, SFMC, or Eloqua, and deep native sync matters more to you than ESP portability.
  • You want landing pages and email managed in one platform.
  • You are rolling out governance across many teams, brands, or regions.
  • You prefer a larger, established vendor. Knak has SOC 2 Type II certification and well-known enterprise customers.

Choose Email Love Builder if

  • Your designers want to keep working in Figma, and your marketers need a drag-and-drop editor built from the same components.
  • You want to maintain one design system in Figma, not a second one inside your email builder.
  • You want your Figma components mapped into the Builder, instead of emails built from Knak’s plugin blocks.
  • You want to start with the Figma plugin now and move to Enterprise later.
  • You want us to migrate your Knak templates for you. Most migrations complete within two weeks.

Questions, answered.

Is Email Love Builder a good Knak alternative?

If your team designs in Figma, yes. Your designers keep working in Figma, and your marketers build from the same components in a drag-and-drop editor, because each production component is mapped to its Figma component. Of the tools we compare, it is the only one that uses Figma as the source of truth. If you need landing pages and native MAP sync more than design fidelity, Knak is the safer choice, and we will tell you that on a call.

Does Knak integrate with Figma?

Yes, through a plugin launched in 2025. Designers build an email from Knak’s own blocks in Figma and publish it into Knak. According to Knak’s help docs, the plugin works with those blocks rather than your existing components, publishes whole emails rather than modules, and cannot update an email after it is published. Email Love Builder maps its production components to your own Figma components instead. When you update a component in Figma and re-sync it, every template that uses it updates.

How much does Knak cost?

Knak does not publish its pricing, so expect a custom annual quote. Our Figma plugin is free to start, with paid plans from $19 per user a month. Email Love Builder is a custom quote and comes with Enterprise.

Can you migrate our Knak templates?

Yes, and we do the work. We convert your existing Knak emails and modules into a Figma design system mapped to the Builder. Most migrations complete within two weeks.

Do marketers need to code in either tool?

No. Both are no-code for marketers. The difference is where the components come from. In Knak, they come from a library built and maintained inside Knak. In Email Love Builder, they come from your Figma design system.
