Email Love Builder is for teams that already maintain their email design system in Figma: designers keep working there, and marketers get a drag-and-drop editor built from the same components, so the design system is not recreated in another editor.

In RGE Studio, designers and marketers work in the same drag-and-drop editor, and for teams without a formal design system that keeps things simple. If your designers maintain the email design system in Figma, it is rebuilt in RGE Studio as saved rows and brand styles, and the two versions are kept matched by hand.

In Email Love Builder, designers and marketers each work in their own tool. Designers keep building and maintaining the email design system in Figma. Marketers build campaigns in a drag-and-drop editor from those same components, without opening Figma, and locked states decide what they can change. Each component in the editor is mapped to its Figma component and re-synced when it changes, so nobody spends time rebuilding the design system inside the editor, and there is no second version to keep matched.

What happened to Beefree

On May 14, 2026, Beefree renamed itself RGE Studio, after Really Good Emails, the email gallery it acquired in April 2024. The editor, pricing, and accounts are the same, and the product now includes the 20K+ email gallery. The embeddable white-label editor, used in 1,100+ SaaS apps, kept the Beefree name (Beefree SDK) and is priced separately, from $400 a month.

This matters because the built-in editor in some ESPs, such as Customer.io and Iterable, may be Beefree SDK. So if your team uses its ESP’s built-in editor, you may already be using Beefree. In both cases, your designs live in the editor, not in your Figma design system.

Limits to plan for

For getting a good-looking email out quickly, RGE Studio is one of the best tools available, and its Capterra rating (4.8 from 200+ reviewers) reflects that.

Two limits come from RGE Studio’s own pricing and docs: brand controls, locked blocks, and approval workflows are only on the Business tier at $160 a month, and designs move into RGE Studio, so anything designed in Figma has to be rebuilt there.

Email Love Builder handles these differently. The output is MJML-backed HTML with weight optimization built in. Components come from Figma with Auto Layout and Variants, so layouts match your designs. Brand controls are part of each component, and locked and unlocked states decide what marketers can change.

Your brand changes the button radius. What happens next?

Say your brand changes the primary button from a 6px corner radius to 12px. In RGE Studio, the button lives in the editor’s saved rows and brand settings, so someone updates it there as well as in Figma.

In Email Love Builder, a designer updates the button component in Figma and re-syncs it. Every template that uses the component picks up the new radius. The change is made once.

How each tool works with Figma

RGE Studio’s path from a design tool is its HTML Importer. You convert your design to HTML, paste it in, and get an editable template. As of September 2026, there is no native Figma plugin or import.

Email Love Builder is built around Figma. Figma stays the source of truth: each production component is mapped to its component in Figma, and when designers update a component and re-sync it, every template that uses it updates. If your team does not use Figma, this will not help you, and RGE Studio’s simpler approach is the better fit.
