What happened to Beefree

On May 14, 2026, Beefree rebranded to RGE Studio, taking the name of Really Good Emails, the inspiration gallery it acquired in April 2024. It is the same editor, the same pricing, and the same accounts, now bundled with the 20K+ real-brand email gallery. One important nuance for buyers: the embeddable white-label editor that powers 1,100+ SaaS apps kept the Beefree name (Beefree SDK) and is priced separately, from $400 a month.

That SDK detail matters more than it looks: if you build emails inside Customer.io or Iterable, the editor you are using may literally be Beefree under the hood. Which means “our ESP already has an editor” and “we use Beefree” can be the same sentence, with the same limitation: your templates live inside that one platform.

The easiest editor has a ceiling

We will not pretend otherwise: for going from zero to a respectable email this afternoon, RGE Studio is probably the best tool on the market, and its Capterra reviews (4.8 from 200+ reviewers) reflect that.

The same reviews sketch the ceiling. Exported HTML runs heavy, and heavy HTML is what trips Gmail’s 102KB clipping. Element placement is rigid when your layout does not match the grid. Brand controls, locked blocks, and approval workflows only arrive on the Business tier at $160 a month. And your design source of truth moves into RGE Studio: whatever exists in Figma gets rebuilt, and stays rebuilt.
