How We Grew Email Love to 10,000 Subscribers: The Numbers, Strategies, and What’s Next

This week, Email Love officially crossed 10,000 active subscribersโ€”a milestone that feels pretty great! I still remember when hitting 1,000 felt like climbing Mount Everest. Now here we are with five figures worth of email marketing enthusiasts in our corner.

But numbers are just numbers unless they tell you something useful. So I dug into what our community actually looks like, how they engage, and what it means for where Email Love is headed next.

The Numbers

๐Ÿ“ˆ Cumulative Subscriber Growth

๐Ÿš€ Monthly Growth Trends

The headline metrics:

  • 10,011 active subscribers
  • 42.26% average open rate
  • 5.33% average click rate
  • 12.61% click-to-open rate
  • 34,263 pop-ups shown with a 2.5% conversion rate

But here’s what really got me excited when I dug deeper into engagement patterns:

  • 48.4% of subscribers have clicked at least one email
  • Only 12.3% have never opened an email
  • Nearly two-thirds actively engage with our content regularly

This tells me we’re not just building a big email listโ€”we’re building a community of people who genuinely care about great email marketing.

Our Global Community

I was pleasantly surprised at how international our audience has become. While 52.6% of subscribers are in the US, we’ve got passionate email marketers everywhere:

  • UK: 5.1%
  • India: 3.3%
  • Canada: 2.2%
  • Plus subscribers across France, Australia, Netherlands, and dozens of other countries

The Growth Strategies That Actually Worked

These numbers didn’t happen by accident. Here are the tactics that moved the needle:

1. Social Proof in Sign-Up Forms

We added subscriber testimonials directly to our sign-up forms, and it made a real difference. Nothing sells Email Love better than hearing from people who actually use it every day. Real quotes from real marketers carry way more weight than any copy I could write.

2. Strategic (But Effective) Pop-Ups

Look, I know pop-ups can be annoying. But our 2.5% conversion rateโ€”855 new subscribers from 34,263 viewsโ€”proves they work when done thoughtfully. We’ve made them smarter with better timing, mobile optimization, and targeting based on what visitors are actually viewing.

3. Daily Curation Consistency

We shifted from sporadic updates to daily curation. Fresh email inspiration Monday through Friday means there’s always a reason to check back, and it’s been driving consistent traffic growth. Consistency beats perfection every time.

4. Friction-Free Google Sign-In

One-click Google signup removed a ton of barriers. When someone discovers something cool on our site and wants to save it, the last thing we want is a lengthy form standing in their way.

5. Collections for Better Organization

We added Pinterest-style collections so users can save and organize emails that inspire their work. People are using this feature way more than expectedโ€”we now have 4,500 registered users actively curating their own inspiration libraries.

What’s Next for Email Love in 2025

Growing to 10K subscribers is exciting, but we’re just getting started. Here’s what we’re building next:

Email Love Trends

We’re very close to launching analytics on all your favorite brands, aggregated by category. You’ll be able to see sending patterns, design trends, and campaign performance across different industries.

AI Integration

Still figuring out exactly what this looks like, but AI is definitely in our future. Whether it’s better search, design assistance, or trend analysis, we’re exploring how to make AI actually useful for email marketers.

In-Person Events

We love being newsletter friends, but hanging out in person is even better! We’re planning meetups and potentially a larger conference in 2025.

The Real Lesson

The biggest takeaway from this journey isn’t about growth hacks or clever tactics. It’s about building something people actually want and then being consistent about delivering value.

Every successful strategy we implemented came back to the same core principle: make it easier for email marketers to create better campaigns. Whether that’s through inspiration, tools, or community, everything we do serves that mission.

Thank you to everyone who’s joined us on this journey. Whether you’ve been here since the early days or just discovered us yesterday, I appreciate you being part of the Email Love community.

Here’s to the next 10,000โ€”and to helping even more marketers fall in love with email.

Much love,
Andy
