Hey Email Love community! I’m thrilled to announce our newest feature is now live. We’ve been working on Brand Insights for months, and it’s finally ready for you to explore.

What’s the big deal?

As email marketers, we’re all subscribed to dozens (or hundreds) of email programs, trying to reverse-engineer what makes the best brands successful. It’s time-consuming work that often leaves us with more questions than answers.

Brand Insights changes that game completely. We’ve built a dashboard that gives you an inside look at how your favorite brands approach email – from strategy and technology to creative execution and deliverability.

Want to know which ESP powers Nike’s campaigns? Curious about how often Graza uses animated GIFs? Wondering what time of day Starbucks tends to send? It’s all there, backed by real data from actual campaigns.

Taking it for a spin

Here’s how to dive in:

  1. Head to emaillove.com/brands
  2. Search for a brand you’re curious about or browse our collection
  3. Click through to see all their emails we’ve collected
  4. Hit the “Brand Insights” link at the top

Once you’re inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of data:

  • Subject line intelligence: See patterns in length, keywords, and phrasing that drive engagement for that brand.
  • Send time strategies: Discover when brands are hitting the inbox and which days they prefer.
  • Technical underpinnings: ESP identification, authentication status, and email client optimization.
  • Creative approaches: Track responsive design implementation, animated GIF usage, and even average HTML size.

Making it work for you

Our early users have found some clever ways to put this data to work:

A creative director I know uses Brand Insights to show clients objective data about their competitors’ email programs – which instantly establishes credibility in pitch meetings.

A solo email marketer told me she’s saved hours of research time by quickly identifying which ESPs are popular in her industry.

One of our agency partners creates quarterly trend reports for clients by tracking how brand strategies evolve over time.

My personal favorite: using the subject line analysis to battle the dreaded “make the subject line shorter” feedback with actual data from successful brands.

Brand Insights is just the beginning. In the next couple weeks, we’re launching Email Love Trends – a feature that aggregates this data across 22 categories including Apparel, Automotive, Beauty, Higher Ed, SaaS, Non-profits, and more.

Each category will have its own dashboard, giving you industry-specific benchmarks and trends to inform your strategy.

A note on pricing

In the spirit of transparency: we will introduce premium access to these features later this year, but I promise there will always be a free version available!

Jump in and tell us what you think

The best way to understand Brand Insights is to explore it yourself. Pick a few brands you admire (or compete with) and see what you discover.

I’d love to hear how you’re using it and what additional metrics would make it even more valuable for your work.

Happy exploring,

Much love,
Andy
