Email Love Builder vs Postcards, for teams that design in Figma.

Postcards by Designmodo is a drag-and-drop email builder built around 100+ pre-designed modules and an AI Suite, with one-click export to 18 sending platforms. Email Love Builder is for teams that already have a design system in Figma and want to build emails from it instead of from modules.

What is the biggest difference between Email Love Builder and Postcards?

Postcards starts you from its own library: 100+ professionally designed modules you assemble and restyle, with brand presets pulled from your website. Email Love Builder starts from the email design system your designers already maintain in Figma: they keep working there, and marketers build from the same components in a drag-and-drop editor, so your brand does not get re-created as Designmodo modules.

Where they differ.

01

Where designers and marketers work

In Postcards, everyone shares one editor. Marketers assemble emails from the module library, restyle them with brand presets, and collaborate in real time with roles and comments. There is no code view; for most of its audience that is the point. If you already employ designers, their work reaches Postcards as a restyling exercise: the design system itself lives in the modules you have saved inside the tool.

In Email Love Builder, designers and marketers each work in their own tool. Designers keep building and maintaining the email design system in Figma. Marketers build campaigns in a drag-and-drop editor from those same components, without opening Figma, and locked states decide what they can change. Each component in the editor is mapped to its Figma component and re-synced when it changes, so nobody spends time rebuilding the design system inside the editor, and there is no second version to keep matched.

02

Modules and design systems

Postcards’ module library is a genuine strength: 100+ blocks, professionally designed, tested in dark mode, and validated across email clients with Litmus and Email on Acid (vendor statements, Sept 2026). For a team without design resources, that is a real head start. It is harder when you already have a design system: each module has to be restyled toward your brand, and the result is usually close to your guidelines rather than an exact match.

In Email Love Builder, your components, tokens, and layouts come from Figma as your designers built them, including Auto Layout and Variants, and each component stays mapped to its Figma original. Marketers build from those approved components, so the emails match your design system.

03

Your brand changes the button radius. What happens next?

Say your brand changes the primary button from a 6px corner radius to 12px. In Postcards, the button lives in the modules you have saved and reused, so someone updates those saved modules inside Postcards as well as the component in Figma, and works through the templates that used the old ones.

In Email Love Builder, a designer updates the button component in Figma and re-syncs it. Every template that uses the component picks up the new radius. The change is made once.

04

How each tool works with Figma

As of September 2026, Postcards has a Figma plugin that exports a design into Postcards, where it opens as an editable project; it can also export a Figma layout as a series of images. Both are one-time copies. When your Figma file changes, the version in Postcards is out of date until you export it again.

Email Love Builder starts in Figma. Each production component is mapped to its component in Figma rather than imported once. When designers update a component in Figma and re-sync it, every template that uses it updates.

05

Pricing

Postcards publishes its pricing. The editor is free to open with no signup, the Start plan is free with 5 exports a month, Plus is $16 a month with 20 exports and 5,000 AI credits, and Pro is $24 with unlimited exports, three editors included, and SSO; additional editors are $8 per seat (checked September 2026).

Email Love Builder is a custom quote. It comes with Enterprise, which includes a custom design system of up to 100 components, team training, and a dedicated Slack channel. Our Figma plugin has published pricing: it is free to start, Starter is $19 and Growth is $59 per user a month, and Professional is for teams of three or more. You can start with the plugin and move to Enterprise later.

Which is right for you?

Choose Postcards if

  • You have no dedicated design resources and want emails that look designed out of the box.
  • You want AI to draft full templates from a prompt at a low monthly price.
  • Your sending platform is on its integration list, such as HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or SendGrid.
  • Dark-mode-ready modules matter to you: Postcards tests its module library in dark mode.

Choose Email Love Builder if

  • Your designers want to keep working in Figma, and your marketers need a drag-and-drop editor built from the same components.
  • Your brand has its own design system, and restyling someone else’s modules toward it has become a recurring tax.
  • You send through Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or Marketo, which are not on Postcards’ integration list (Sept 2026).
  • You want migration done for you rather than a rebuild.

Questions, answered.

Is Email Love Builder a good Postcards alternative?

Yes, for teams with a design system in Figma. Designers keep working in Figma, marketers build from the same components in a drag-and-drop editor, and locked components keep emails on brand. For solo marketers and small teams without design resources, Postcards is one of the most polished low-cost options available.

Does Postcards work with Figma?

Partly. As of September 2026, its Figma plugin exports a design into Postcards as an editable project, and can export layouts as images; each export is a one-time copy. Email Love Builder maps its production components to your Figma components instead, and a re-sync brings changes from Figma into every template that uses the component.

How much does Postcards cost?

Postcards publishes its pricing: the Start plan is free with 5 exports a month, Plus is $16 a month, and Pro is $24 a month with unlimited exports and three editors included; extra editors are $8 per seat. Our Figma plugin is free to start, with paid plans from $19 per user a month. Email Love Builder is a custom quote and comes with Enterprise.

Is Postcards good for teams with an existing design system?

It can be adapted to one: brand presets carry your logo, colors, and fonts, and saved modules can be restyled toward your guidelines. But the system then lives inside Postcards as modules you maintain by hand, separately from the design system your designers maintain in Figma. Teams with a real Figma design system usually want the two to be the same thing, which is the problem Email Love Builder is built around.

Can you migrate our Postcards templates?

Yes, we convert them for you. Most migrations complete within two weeks, and we have converted over 1,000 templates to date.
