Scalable Email Production with Figma Components

We’ve just shipped something I’m genuinely excited about, and trust me, I don’t get this pumped about features unless they’re genuinely game-changing.

The Email Love Figma Plugin now has full Figma component compatibility.

If you’re thinking, “Andy, what does that actually mean for my day-to-day email production?”- I’m glad you asked.

What Are Figma Components Again?

Quick refresher: Figma components are reusable design elements that live in your design system. Most designers use them for websites or product design, but here’s the thingโ€”they’re absolute magic when combined with the Email Love Figma Plugin.

Think of components as your email building blocks. Create them once, use them everywhere, and when you need to make a change, it cascades across every template that uses that component.

Why This Changes Everything for Email Teams

Here’s where it gets interesting. I’ve been building out my own Email Love newsletter components to test this feature, and the efficiency gains are ridiculous.

I now have reusable components for:

  • Headers
  • Hero sections
  • Content blocks for email inspiration features
  • “What we’re reading this week” sections
  • Sponsorship blocks

These are my master components. I don’t touch them unless I want to make a change across all of my templates and campaigns.

The Real Magic Happens When You Need Updates

Let’s say you decide to rebrand and change your primary color from blue to red. With traditional email design, you’d be updating dozens of templates manually.

With Figma components? Change it once in your master component, and it updates everywhere automatically. Same goes for fonts, corner radius, spacingโ€”any design element you can think of.

Building Emails Just Got Stupid Simple

When you’re ready to create a new campaign, just open the assets tab in Figma. All your components are sitting there, ready to drag and drop.

You can use individual components to build custom layouts, or drop in entire pre-built templates if you’re in a hurry. Either way works.

Properties Make Everything Flexible

Here’s a feature I’m particularly proud of: you can apply properties to different parts of your components.

Want to toggle the hero image on or off? There’s a button for that. Need to hide certain text elements? Another button. It’s like having email template superpowers.

Perfect for Non-Figma Experts

One of my favorite aspects of this update is the “simplify all instances” feature. When marketers are editing content, they don’t need to see all the technical Figma settings on the right sidebar.

Hit that button, and suddenly your team members can focus on what matters: updating images, changing text, and getting campaigns out the door. No more accidentally breaking layouts or messing up padding.

Why We Built This

Look, I’ve been in email marketing for 15+ years, and I’ve seen teams struggle with the same problems over and over:

  • Inconsistent branding across campaigns
  • Designers becoming bottlenecks for simple content updates
  • Hours wasted rebuilding the same email sections
  • Brand updates requiring manual changes across dozens of templates

Figma component support solves all of these problems. It’s not just a nice-to-have featureโ€”it’s how modern email teams should be working.

Ready to Try It?

This feature is live now for all Email Love Figma Plugin users. If you’re not using the plugin yet, we offer a free trial, or you can book a 1:1 demo with me here.

Much love,
Andy
